Southland Casts Dorian Missick as Lydia's New Partner

Dorian Missick is joining Southland as the new partner of Det. Lydia Adams (Regina King), a show rep confirms.

Missick, 35, will recur as Ruben Robinson, a tough but intelligent and thoughtful detective trainee who is "smitten" with Lydia and eager to learn from her, according to the casting call for the role. A married father of three, Ruben joins the LAPD after serving tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

TNT announces winter premiere dates for Southland, The Closer

Missick is best known for his roles in Two Weeks Notice and last year's short-lived series The Cape. His casting was first reported by Deadline.

Southland returns for Season 4 on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10/9c.
