The Sorrentinos

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is returning to reality TV with a whole new set of housemates: his family! But fans of Jersey Shore might be surprised by the Mike they see on TVGN's The Sorrentinos.

Mike, who checked into a rehab facility last year to deal with his addiction to prescription pills, has put his partying days long behind him, but the struggle it took for him to get there will be front and center on the reality series.

"We were very honest in how we approached that entire situation — no pun intended — and I think it's important for people to see that because I know there are a ton of people out there who have [an] addiction," Mike's sister Melissa tells TVGuide.com. "I know there are a ton of families out there who are trying to get their loved ones help. And I've yet to see somebody on reality television be as honest as we have been."

TV's sexiest crime fighters

For his part, Mike just feels lucky to be able to share this experience with his family. "I wish the really best for all of them. And I'm just happy for them to go to interviews, to see more people, to travel more," he says. "It's really an experience of a lifetime. And for me to maybe get it twice, it really gives you the tingles. You really feel blessed."

But Mike isn't the only Sorrentino with dreams of fame and fortune. The Sorrentinos details his brothers Frank's and Mark's pursuits of acting and DJ careers, respectively, while the women in the family go after more down-to-earth goals. The show will follow Melissa as she plans her wedding and their mother Linda reentering the dating world. But no matter what the respective family members are up to, they'll all be doing it together.

"We happen to be exceptionally close," Mark says. "We live together, we work together, we hang out together." Of course, when they spend so much time together, there's bound to be some tension. "Everything comes out at Sunday dinner," Frank teases.

The Sorrentinos premieres Tuesday at 10/9c on TVGN.
