A familiar face is returning for Smash's second season.
Bernadette Peters will reprise her role as Leigh Conroy, the mother of Megan Hilty's Ivy, Vulture reports.

Peters will pop up about midway through the second season. When last we saw Leigh, she was making Ivy crazy with her passive-aggressive "advice" about landing the role of Marilyn — and we all know how that turned out.
Peters joins other Season 2 guest stars, including Jesse L. Martin, Nikki Blonsky, Jennifer Hudson and Sean Hayes.
Smash returns midseason on NBC.
