Pilot Season: Skeet Ulrich Returns to CBS for Drama From Homeland Team

Skeet Ulrich

Skeet Ulrich is heading back to CBS.

The former Jericho star has signed on for the lead role in Anatomy of Violence, the drama pilot from the team behind the Emmy-winning drama Homeland.

The complete pilot report: CBS has Beverly Hills Cop and Toni Collette

Ulrich, 43, will star as Dr. Raines, a unshaven and disheveled maverick FBI criminal psychiatrist who specializes in interrogating  people to learn why they commit acts of extreme violence. Anatomy of Violence comes from writers and executive producers Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Alex Cary. David Harewood will co-star.

This is Ulrich's first TV role since the short-lived Law & Order: Los Angeles, which he left midway through Season 1. He is best known on the small screen for his role on Jericho, which aired on CBS from 2006 to 2008. Netflix reportedly approached CBS last May about reviving the series, but Ulrich's casting would seemingly hinder any such resurrection.
