The Simpsons will pay a special tribute to late star Marcia Wallace, who voiced Edna Krabapple on the animated series for 25 years.
In the wake of her Oct. 24 death, Fox has pulled a previously scheduled repeat episode of American Dad! and will instead re-air the Season 3 episode "Bart the Lover," which predominantly featured Mrs. Krabapple, Entertainment Weekly reports. The episode netted Wallace an Emmy in 1992.

On the episode, Bart discovers that his teacher has posted a personal ad and begins writing her love letters. After setting her up on a fake date, Bart's conscience begins to weigh on him when he sees her sitting alone at a restaurant for several hours. He subsequently works to make things right with his teacher.
"Bart the Lover" will air Sunday at 7:30/6:30c, followed by an all-new episode of The Simpsons which will end with a special tribute card honoring Wallace.
In a statement released Saturday, executive producer Al Jean said that the character of Mrs. Krabapple will be retired because of Wallace's death.
