Showtime Renews Shameless and Episodes

Shameless and Episodes are returning for second seasons, Showtime announced Monday.
"The viewer loyalty and critical acclaim that has met both Shameless and Episodes since their January debuts makes it clear that these two brash and sophisticated series are burgeoning hits," David Nevins, president of the premium cable channel, said in a statement.

Shameless, which had the network's biggest drama debut in seven years, stars William H. Macy as a working-class father of a Chicago family. Emmy Rossum plays the daughter who keeps the home together while Macy's character is out gallivanting and drinking.
Matt LeBlanc plays a version of himself in the half-hour comedy Episodes.
Shameless' second season will have 12 episodes, while the number for Episodes has yet to be determined.
