Showtime Renews Homeland for Season 3

Showtime has ordered a third season of Homeland, the network announced Monday.
Sunday's episode of the drama drew 1.75 million viewers and was the highest-rated episode of the series. Homeland also cleaned up at the Emmy Awards last month, winning six awards including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama for Damian Lewis and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for Claire Danes.
Homeland boss: Latest twist turns the whole series on its head
The third season will begin production next spring and will consist of 12 episodes, according to Showtime.
