Shia LaBeouf's License Suspended for a Year

Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf's driver license has been suspended for a year as a result of his July 2008 car crash.

The suspension was due to the Transformers star's refusal of "chemical tests," when he was arrested on suspicion of a DUI on the morning of July 27, a DMV official tells E! Online.

Per California law, anyone who refuses a blood, urine or Breathalyzer test after being busted on a suspected DUI can have his or her license suspended for up to a year. Though LaBeouf's attorney, Michael Norris, has yet to comment on the suspension, he stated in September that he did not foresee one happening.

The DUI charges against LaBeouf were dropped when it was determined the actor was not at fault for the accident, which severely injured his left hand. LaBeouf has since had two surgeries on it.
