Colombian pop star Shakira met with earthquake survivors living in makeshift tents in Haiti and is planning to build a school there for needy children through her foundation, according to NPR.

The 33-year-old, Grammy Award-winning singer visited a Haitian golf course, on which more than 50,000 quake survivors are living. Sean Penn, who is also in the country providing humanitarian aid, greeted her. The two spoke about the obstacles the country faces since the Jan. 12 earthquake.
