Selena Gomez Granted Restraining Order

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has been granted a temporary restraining order against a man who police said threatened the Wizards of Waverly Place star, The Associated Press reports.

Per the order, which was granted Thursday in Burbank, Calif., Thomas Brodnicki must stay 100 yards away from Gomez and her workplace until a Nov. 4 hearing, during which the order may be extended for three years.

According to the filings, mental health workers notified state police after Brodnicki, 46, threatened to harm or kill Gomez, 19.

Gomez said in a sworn declaration that she is in "extreme fear" of Brodnicki.
