VIDEO: Check Out Jerry Seinfeld's New Web Series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld has "finally done a show about nothing," according to his friend, Seinfeld creator Larry David.

David stars in the first installment of Seinfeld's latest endeavor, a web series called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.  And the title is not a red herring — in each 10- to 15-minute episode, Seinfeld picks up one of his comedian pals in a vintage car and heads to a diner or coffee shop. Hilarity ensues as the pair banters over eggs, coffee and, in David's case, pancakes.

Another guest on the series? Ricky Gervais, who reveals a surprisingly intense fear of speed.

In the Gervais episode, Seinfeld drives the British funnyman to The Bronx's City Island Diner in a 1967 Austin-Healey 3000, which Gervais, a self-professed nervous passenger, describes as "a tin bucket."

"Are we in The Italian Job?" Gervais, gripping the dashboard, asks Seinfeld as the car picks up speed on the highway. "We're going for coffee, for Christ's sake. We're not trying to diffuse a f---ing bomb. There's no need for this. Even Jack Bauer had an hour."

While David had his own characterization of the show, Gervais, who is launching his own web series later this month, had another take: "A man wants to drive you around New York really fast in a death machine, laughing."

See why Seinfeld's driving had Gervais reaching for the valium in the clip below.
