New Poll Names Seinfeld the Best Sitcom, Jay Leno the Funniest Late-Night Host

Is the show about nothing really the best sitcom of all time?

It is according to a new poll conducted by 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair, in which Americans voted Seinfeld as the top sitcom.

The NBC comedy based on the stand-up of Jerry Seinfeld amassed 22 percent of the vote, followed by The Honeymooners with 20 percent of the vote. Friends grabbed 16 percent to rank third, and Cheers was the top choice for 14 percent of voters.

Arrested Development, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and 30 Rock garnered 7, 6 and 5 percent of the vote, respectively.

When asked in the same poll about which late-night host was most likely to make them laugh, 24 percent of voters went with Tonight Show host Jay Leno.  Although Leno beat David Letterman (13 percent), Jimmy Fallon (12 percent) and Conan O'Brien (12 percent) — ouch! — among others, 23 percent of voters said "none of the above" when asked to choose between those hosts as well as Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson.

Kimmel received eight percent of the vote, while Ferguson retained four percent.
