Sean Sasser, AIDS Activist Who Appeared on The Real World, Dies

Sean Sasser, whose commitment ceremony to Real World star Pedro Zamora was a TV first, has died. He was 44.
Judd Winick, who also appeared on The Real World: San Francisco, announced the news via Twitter Tuesday night. "Our friend Sean Sasser has died," he posted. "Our love goes out to his family & husband Michael. We will miss u so much."

Sasser, an AIDS activist who was HIV positive, died of mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer that affects people with weakened immune systems, according toQueerty.
Sasser and Zamora's commitment ceremony was televised on MTV in 1994. Zamora died later that year due to complications from AIDS.
