Richard Schiff

Former West Wing star Richard Schiff has joined Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, a CBS rep confirms.

Schiff will recur as FBI director Jack Fickler (aka Forest Whitaker's boss) and he will appear in the spinoff's first episode, according to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news. The show is scheduled to debut at midseason.

Criminal Minds' Kirsten Vangsness joins spinoff as a series regular

Schiff, who most recently starred in Fox's short-lived reincarnation drama Past Life, is best known for his Emmy-winning work as White House Communications Director Toby Ziegler on The West Wing. He has also guest-starred on Monk, Entourage and In Plain Sight.

Suspect Behavior stars Whitaker as the head of team of FBI agents in the Behavioral Analysis Unit. The show also stars Janeane Garofalo and Criminal Minds regular Kirsten Vangsness.
