On the Season 2 finale, the crime-fighting duo were left at odds after Jane (Angie Harmon) shot her best friend's estranged father, crime boss Paddy Doyle (John Doman), after having promised Maura (Sasha Alexander) that she wasn't going to do anything. But Alexander, who started shooting Season 3 on Thursday, tells TVGuide.com that she doesn't think the rift portends long-term danger to the ladies' friendship.

"This has the ability to deepen their relationship in a way that they may not even know," she says. "I hope because they have such a clear understanding of each other and a care for each other that they will find a way to make their way back."
