Katie Couric, Sarah Palin

Almost three years after going head to head with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin harked back to that interview while commenting on Couric's just-confirmed exit from CBS.

Asked about it by Greta Van Susteran on Fox News Channel, Palin cracked that she'd read about the move in "one of many" newspapers she checks out online.

"I hear that she wants to now engage in more 'multidimensional storytelling' versus I guess just the 'straight-on, read-into-that-teleprompter-screen storytelling.' More power to her. I wish her well in her 'multidimensional storytelling,'" said the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate, who's used notes on her hand as a teleprompter.

Meanwhile, Couric continues to fuel speculation about a possible collaboration with Today anchor Matt Lauer. "Matt and I have undeniable chemistry in the most platonic sense of the word. We are like an old, married couple. We finish each other's sentences. He is very committed to the Today show. But who knows?" she told People.com.

Lauer, on the other hand, recently told Jimmy Fallon: "I love my job. I have a long-term contract. I'm not going anywhere."
