Samuel L. Jackson Set to Host BET Awards, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj to Perform

Fresh off the success of his latest blockbuster The Avengers, Samuel L. Jackson will host the 12th annual BET Awards.
The show will feature performances by Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj. Kanye West received the most nominations this year with seven, followed by Beyonce (6) and Kanye's close friend and "Watch the Throne" collaborator Jay-Z, who received five.

Viewers can also expect emotional tributes to the music icons we lost this year, including Whitney Houston, Donna Summer, Don Cornelius and Amy Winehouse. San Francisco soul band Maze feat. Frankie Beverly will be receiving the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award.
The BET Awards will air live from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium on Sunday, July 1 at 8/7c on BET.
