Sam Neill to Star in J.J. Abrams' Alcatraz Pilot

Sam Neill will star opposite Sarah Jones in J.J. Abrams' Fox pilot, Alcatraz, Deadline reports.
The project follows a cop (Jones) and a team of FBI agents trying to track down a group of missing Alcatraz prisoners and guards who reappear in the present day after disappearing thirty years earlier. Neill, 63, will play Emerson Hauser, the intelligent and authoritative head of a government agency.
J.J. Abrams' Alcatraz pilot casts female lead
Neill joins Lost's Jorge Garcia, Jonny Coyne and Jason Butler Harner. Alcatraz will be produced by Abrams and showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Lost).
Neill, best known for his starring role in Jurassic Park, most recently starred in ABC's short-lived mystery series Happy Town earlier this year.
