Look out, Oprah. Ryan Seacrest is in talks to launch his own cable channel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the American Idol host will team up with talent agency CAA and entertainment company AEG to form a music, pop culture and lifestyle-oriented network.

But it won't be all Seacrest all the time. The new channel will feature broadcasts of AEG's concerts and series produced by Seacrest, who will continue to work at E!, where he hosts E! News and produces Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

In order for the network to be launched, the group would first have to secure cable or satellite distribution. The Reporter notes that many new cable networks are in fact just rebrands of underperforming networks, a strategy that Discovery is using to relaunch Discovery Health as Winfrey's OWN Network in 2011.
