Ryan Lochte: I've Never Had a One-Night Stand

Ryan Lochte

Even Olympic athletes get embarrassed by their moms sometimes.

Case in point? Swimmer Ryan Lochte, whose mother Ike said on the Today show this week that her son "goes out on one-night stands."

Now the gold medalist is doing damage control, saying that his mother meant to say that he goes out on dates, not that he has one-night stands.

Olympic Moment: Who came out on top in Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte's final showdown?

"They took it out of context," Lochte told Us Weekly Friday. "My mom is really new to all of this and the media. She meant since the last four years I just wanted to focus on swimming, and I didn't really have time for a relationship."

"What she meant is that I do go out on dates," he continued. "But it's not that thing that everyone is talking about, because that's not me. I've never done that and never have been like that, so I don't want people to think that about me."

Do you believe Lochte?
