Roger Ebert: We Can't Afford to Finance At the Movies Anymore

Ebert Presents: At the Movies may go off the air at the end of the season, Roger Ebert writes on his blog.
Since the show's January debut, it has been financed solely by a $25,000 backing from Kanbar Charitable Trust. The rest has come from Ebert and his wife Chaz, who are both executive producers on the show.
"We can't afford to support it any longer," Ebert writes. "That's what it comes down to."

At the Movies, which debuted in January, is hosted by film critics Christy Lemire of The Associated Press and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky of mubi.com.
"American Public Television wants to know if they can tell their member stations we'll be back in 2012," he writes. "We have to give them our answer this month. Unless we find underwriting, I'm afraid our answer will have to be 'no.'"
He adds that Chaz "still has a few more days to keep making calls."
