Rock of Ages Courting Alec Baldwin and Tom Cruise

Alec Baldwin and Tom Cruise are close to rocking together on the big screen in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages.
Baldwin has been offered the supporting role of Bourbon Room owner Dennis Dupree, while Cruise is in negotiations to play rock star Stacee Jaxx, according to The Wrap.

The musical, being adapted by New Line, follows a young girl who moves to Los Angeles from the Midwest to follow her dreams of becoming an actress. It features hit songs from '80s bands Bon Jovi, Styx, Twisted Sister and Poison.
Adam Shankman is directing with production tentatively scheduled to begin in March.
