Robbie Amell

Another member of the Amell family is heading to The CW.

Robbie Amell, who's the cousin of Arrow star Stephen Amell, has been cast in a lead in the drama pilot The Tomorrow People, TVGuide.com has learned.

Pilot Season: Get all the latest news

Amell's character (ironically named Stephen) is a tormented young man who longs to be normal and is relieved to learn he's not crazy, but rather part of a group of genetically superior people known as the Tomorrow People, who use such special powers as teleportation and telepathy to fight evil.

The cast also includes Peyton List and Luke Mitchell.

Based on the U.K. series of the same name, The Tomorrow People is executive-produced by Phil Klemmer (Chuck), who's writing the pilot, as well as Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries) and Greg Berlanti, who also executive-produces Arrow.
