Rip Torn Heading to Rehab After Arrest

After spending the weekend in a holding cell, Rip Torn was released Monday and is heading to a rehabilitation center, The Associated Press reports.

Torn, 78, was arrested Friday after police found him inside a bank in Salisbury, Conn., drunk with a loaded revolver. Charges against him include criminal trespass, carrying a gun without a permit, carrying a gun while intoxicated, burglary and criminal mischief

The Men in Black actor was released Monday on $100,000 bond and will be heading to a rehab center in New York, according to his lawyer, A. Thomas Waterfall.

"The history here is clear that there's an alcohol issue that needs to be addressed," Waterfall told Superior Court Judge John W. Pickard on Monday.

Torn is expected to return to court Feb. 17.
