Rick Springfield has pleaded not guilty to a drunken driving charge stemming from his May arrest, The Associated Press reports.

Philip Cohen, Springfield's attorney, entered the plea on the "Jessie's Girl" singer's behalf in a Malibu court on Tuesday. Springfield did not attend the arraignment.
The 61-year-old singer and actor was pulled over on May 1 for speeding on Pacific Coast Highway. He was arrested after his blood alcohol content was measured at .10 percent, which exceeds the legal limit of .08 percent.
