Serene Branson

Los Angeles newscaster Serene Branson suffered speech difficulties on the air Sunday night while covering the Grammys, causing the audience watching the broadcast to wonder about her condition.

In the disturbing video, Branson started off her report by saying "a very, very heavy," but then devolving into gibberish. The network cut to an earlier report while they sought medical attention for Branson.

"Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast," Branson's station, KCBS, said in a statement. "Her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning."

If Branson did not suffer a stroke -- the symptoms of which include confusion and trouble speaking -- it's not clear what caused her condition on the red carpet.
