Ray Romano has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese's rock 'n' roll drama pilot, Deadline.com reports.
Set in 1970s New York, the untitled project explores the music business just as punk and disco were on the rise through the eyes of record executive Richie Finestra (Bobby Cannavale). The Everybody Loves Raymond star will play Zak Yankovich, Richie's closest confidante who acts as his head of promotions.
Parenthood and more bubble shows: Which will survive?
Romano joins the previously cast Olivia Wilde and Juno Temple in the project, which is executive-produced by Scorsese, Mick Jagger, George Mastras and Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire). The pilot is expected to begin production this summer.
For the last two seasons, Romano has recurred on Parenthood as Sarah's on-and-off love interest, Hank. According to Deadline, Romano is expected to return to the family drama if it is renewed for a sixth season.
