Ratings: Whitney Returns Low; Chicago Fire Drops Without The Voice

Whitney Cummings, Chris D'Elia
Whitney returned Wednesday and it didn't do any better than its timeslot predecessor Animal Practice.
The NBC comedy's Season 2 premiere bowed to 4.3 million viewers and a 1.4 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, which matches its series low and is on par with Animal Practice's premiere. Lead-outs Guys with Kids (3.8 million, 1.3), Law & Order: SVU (5.7 million, 1.6) and Chicago Fire (5.7 million, 1.6), which was buoyed last week by The Voice, were all down as well.

ABC also had a low night, with its whole lineup dropping from last week.
Fox won the night with The X Factor (8.1 million, 2.9), which was up three-tenths.
CBS' CSI was the only other show to grow, rising to 10.8 million viewers and a 2.4. Survivor (10 million, 2.6) slipped two-tenths, while Criminal Minds (12.1 million, 3.0) was flat.
On The CW, Arrow (3.8 million, 1.2) grabbed its second biggest audience to date, but was down a tenth in the demo. Supernatural (2.3 million, 1.0) was even.
