Ratings: How Did Supernatural Do in Its Wednesday Debut?

Supernatural

Supernatural drew its largest audience since February on Wednesday, while presidential debate coverage dominated the night.

NBC topped the demo with its coverage of the first debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, averaging a 3.2 over two hours, according to early numbers.

The CW, which was the only broadcast network not to air the debate, pulled in 1.8 million viewers and a 0.8 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic for the Season 8 premiere and Wednesday night debut of Supernatural. That's on par with its premiere last year, on a Friday, and was the most-watched episode since Feb. 10.

In the 8 o'clock hour, most shows were down from last week, save for The X Factor (9.2 million, 3.4), which was flat, and Animal Practice (5.2 million, 1.5) and Guys with Kids (5.5 million, 1.8), which gained a few tenths. Relocated from its post-Modern Family slot last week, The Neighbors (6.6 million, 2.0) fell almost 40 percent.
