Ratings: NBC Comedies Fall; X Factor Rises Again

Thursday night was no laughing matter for NBC.

The network's comedy lineup premieres were down across the board, averaging 4 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the adults 18-to-49 demographic for the night.

Saturday Night Live's Thursday prime-time special opened the night with 5.2 million viewers and a 1.6, sliding 69 percent from its first 2008 Thursday special in 2008. Up All Night (3.14 million, 1.3) was down almost 50 percent from its Wednesday series premiere last year, while The Office (4.3 million, 2.1) dropped 46 percent to match a series low in the demo and Parks and Recreation (3.5 million, 1.7) was even with its finale numbers, but fell 19 percent year-to-year.

Rock Center with Brian Williams closed out NBC's night with 4.05 million and a 1.1, down three-tenths.

The X Factor enjoyed another weekly growth topped the night (9.8 million, 3.4) and Glee (7.4 million, 2.9) slipped just 6 percent.

On The CW, The Next (1.47 million, 0.6) was up four-tenths.
