Ratings: Mentalist, Star-Studded Office Finale Top the Night
American Idol still won the night on Thursday, but the season finales of The Mentalist and The Office put up a good fight.
Nearly 22 million viewers tuned in to Idol to find out which two singers made it to next week's finale. The hourlong results show also drew a 6.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.

The Mentalist's two-hour finale, featuring the highly anticipated reveal of Red John, was the most-watched scripted show of the evening. The CBS drama averaged 14.11 million viewers and a 2.8 demo rating.
The Office, which welcomed guest stars Will Arnett, James Spader, Ray Romano, Ricky Gervais and Catherine Tate, was the top-rated scripted series of the night. The season finale nabbed a 3.9 demo rating, with 7.29 million viewers tuning in.
Elsewhere at 9/8c, Grey's Anatomy and Bones also wrapped their seasons, to 9.89 million and 9.83 million, respectively.
Against Idol, The Big Bang Theory attracted 11.3 million viewers, followed by Rules of Engagement (8.83 million) at 8:30/7:30c. ABC was third in the timeslot with the spring finale of Wipeout (5.6 million).
At 10/9c, Private Practice bowed to 7.45 million. The final two episodes of Parks and Recreation's third season drew 4.27 and 3.72 million, respectively.
