Viewership for the 69th Golden Globe Awards ceremony declined slightly to 16.8 million vs. last year's 17 million, according to time zone-adjusted, preliminary Nielsen figures.

The show also fell a little in the industry-coveted demo of 18-to-49-year-olds — to 5.0 from 5.2 (last year's final figure).

Overnight Nielsen data also showed that the overrun into prime time of the NFC playoff between the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers gave Fox's Animation Domination block a huge boost — particularly, giving Napoleon Dynamite an audience of 9.51 million and a 4.6 demo rating — about double what Allen Gregory opened to (4.74 million, 2.4).

Season 3 of CBS' Undercover Boss opened solidly.
