Ratings: Fashion Star Opens to Soft Numbers

Fashion Star didn't find any runway success Tuesday night.
The reality show's 90-minute premiere opened to 4.5 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the adults 18-to-49 demo. Although it did manage to win the demo against a new Body of Proof (7.28 million, 1.4) and an Unforgettable repeat (7.26 million, 1.3), Fashion Star shed 20 percent from lead-in The Biggest Loser (6.3 million, 2.0), which tied its season-low rating. Fashion Star was also below timeslot predecessor Parenthood's season average.

It was a low-key night all around, as most shows fell, with New Girl (5.7 million, 2.7), Cougar Town (4.4 million, 1.4) and The River (4.1 million, 1.3) hitting all-time lows. New Girl, however, had the night's highest demo, while an NCIS repeat pulled in the most viewers (12.7 million, 2.1).
