Breaking Bad

The third-season premiere of AMC's critically acclaimed Breaking Bad was the show's most-watched episode ever, the network said Monday.

Bad drew 2 million viewers (3.1 million once you factor in the immediate encore audience) and drew its highest rating ever among adults 18 to 49. The show showed double-digit increases in all demos and has increased its audience 63 percent since its 2008 debut, according to AMC.

CBS was the winner among the broadcast networks Sunday night, according to Nielsen estimates. Leading the way was Undercover Boss (13.6 million viewers), followed by Cold Case (13 million) and The Amazing Race (12.5 million). The numbers are somewhat skewed by the NCAA March Madness overrun, but CBS' margin of victory should still stand up.

Fox and ABC tied for second in the demo, though the ABC drew more viewers with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (7.4 million viewers) and Desperate Housewives (10.8 million). The debut of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution (6.2 million) dumped a lot of its lead-in at 10/9c.

It was a mixed night for Fox as well: The Simpsons (5.7 million viewers) was up, Family Guy (6.7 million) was even with the previous week, and The Cleveland Show (5 million viewers) and Sons of Tucson (3.9 million viewers) were down 11 percent and 10 percent in the demo, respectively.

NBC finished last as its new game show Minute to Win It (5.2 million viewers) was down 25 percent in the demo from its debut and The Celebrity Apprentice (6.9 million) fell 19 percent from the previous week.
