Big Brother watching is bigger than it's been in nearly four years. On Wednesday, the CBS program about backstabbing housemates scored its best ratings among several demographics (18-to-49 overall, women 18-to-49, and all 18-to-34-year-olds) since September 2007.

The show handily won its timeslot in total viewership in the first hour of Wednesday's prime time with 7.96 million people vs. reruns of the ABC sitcoms The Middle (4.70 million) and Modern Family (4.68 million), NBC's Minute to Win It (4.65 million), Fox's repeat of Mobbed (1.84 million) and the CW's America's Next Top Model rerun (1.19 million). And its 3.1 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds was more than double the time period's second-best demo.

Big Brother has been a steady ratings performer this summer, regularly attracting 7 million-plus viewers.

In prime time's middle hour, America's Got Talent entertained 9.42 million people (2.4 demo rating), outpacing all-rerun competition, the closest of which was Criminal Minds  (5.86 million/1.5). But lots of people left NBC in the final hour, as the not-so-grand finale of Love in the Wild barely avoided finishing last with 4.49 million viewers in the three-way race against a CSI: Crime Scene Investigation rerun (7.06 million) and a prime-time edition of Nightline (4.37 million).
