Ratings: Apartment 23, SVU Improve; Idol on Top

James Van Der Beek had a pretty good Wednesday night.
His sitcom Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 rebounded from a season low to 5.9 million viewers and a 2.4 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic, while his episode of Law & Order: SVU grabbed 6.5 million viewers and a 1.8 to post NBC's best numbers in the time slot in 12 weeks.

Apartment 23 benefited from a new Modern Family lead-in, which returned to a season low of 9.9 million viewers and a 4.0. The Middle (6.6 million, 2.0) was down a tenth and Suburgatory (5.8 million, 2.0) was even. Revenge (7 million, 2.1) matched last week's series low in the demo.
Fox won the night with American Idol, which fell slightly to 16.3 million viewers and a 4.6.
On CBS, Survivor: One World (9.2 million, 2.5) and CSI (9.7 million, 2.3) were both down, while Criminal Minds (11.4 million, 3.0) was steady.
