Ratings: American Idol's Beatles Show Is Fab

American Idol's relatively fab numbers for its Beatles show — averaging some 22.6 million people over two hours — was enough to have the other networks singing: "Help!"

In prime time's first hour, Survivor: Redemption Island, which last week suffered its lowest-rated premiere ever with 11.2 million viewers, held about the same number. ABC's The Middle lured nearly 8.1 million viewers; Better With You, at 8:30/7:30, attracted some 5.9 million for the second straight week. Part 1 of Minute to Win It got nearly 3.9 million on NBC. And some 2.3 million checked out the 16th season premiere of America's Next Top Model.

At 9/8c, Criminal Minds had 13.4 million watching at 9/8c, according to preliminary Nielsen figures, down from 12.8 million last week. The ratings got even cloudier for Matthew Perry's Mr. Sunshine, which sank to fewer than 6.5 million people in its third outing at 9:30/8:30c. It's down from the 10.6 million it got for its premiere. Its lead-in, Modern Family, pulled in 10.3 million viewers. The second part of Minute to Win It won 4.3 million viewers. Shedding for the Wedding gave the CW its best new reality series premiere in two years among women 18 to 34 and 18-to-34-year-olds overall.

At 10/9c, CBS' Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior could not hold its forebear's considerable lead-in, holding on to only 9.9 million viewers. NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit  grabbed 8 million viewers, while ABC's Off the Map struggled with only 4.9 million viewers.
