Jaded cashier sabrina (Shannon Woodward) wasn't fazed that she didn't get a fancy diamond engagement ring from her supermarket-clerk fiancé, Jimmy (Lucas Neff), in the season premiere of Raising Hope. But that will change in the January 15 episode of the Fox sitcom, when his mom Virginia (Martha Plimpton) talks up the sentimental value of her own bauble.
"Sabrina doesn't focus on superficiality," says Woodward, "but she starts to think maybe she's missed out on something beautiful." So Jimmy goes hunting for a ring she'll love and he can afford. Then he gets back down on bended knee.
As for the upcoming nuptials, Woodward says they won't be Raising Hope-ful: "Sabrina's mother can't attend the wedding, so she hires the film crew from her favorite TV show to document it. So Jimmy and Sabrina's wedding is going to look an awful lot like Modern Family."
