Raising Hope: Melanie Griffith in Talks to Play Sabrina's Mom

Melanie Griffith is in final negotiations to join Raising Hope as Sabrina's mom, E! Online reports.
Little is known about the role other than that the Working Girl actress would appear in multiple episodes this coming season. Stephen Root played Sabrina's dad in an early Season 2 episode. Over the years, the only thing known about Sabrina's parents is that they're wealthy — a stark contrast to her boyfriend Jimmy's slightly more financially strapped family.
Fox announces fall premiere schedule
Griffith, 54, guest-starred as herself in an episode of Hot in Cleveland last year and most recently starred in the Lifetime drama pilot This American Housewife, which was not picked up to series.
Raising Hope's new season premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8/7c on Fox.
