Academy Award-winning actress Rachel Weisz will play the iconic role of Jackie Kennedy in the upcoming film Jackie, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The film, which centers on the days following the assassination of President Kennedy, will be directed and produced by Weisz's husband, Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler).
The project is currently being shopped to major studios, according to the magazine.
The 40-year-old, British-born actress collaborated with Aronosfsky in 2006 for The Fountain, and won an Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in The Constant Gardener.
