Quvenzhane Wallis to Star in Annie Remake

Whether or not she goes home with the statue for Best Actress at the 85th Academy Awards Sunday, Beasts of the Southern Wild star Quvenzhane Wallis already has her next role lined up: Little Orphan Annie.

Wallis, 9, will play the title role in Sony's planned remake of the musical Annie, which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2014, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will be directed by Easy A's Will Gluck and is being produced by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Jay-Z, among others.

Wallis, who is the youngest Best Actress Oscar nominee ever for her role as Hushpuppy in Beasts of the Southern Wild, is also starring in the upcoming film 12 Years a Slave.
