CBS Orders New Pyramid Pilot

Dick Clark

CBS has ordered a new pilot of the classic game show Pyramid, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As the September cancelation of As the World Turns nears, the network is hoping to replace the soap with a game show and will likely order a second game show pilot in the near future, THR reports. CBS chose Let's Make a Deal over Pyramid to replace daytime soap Guiding Light when it left the airwaves last fall.

The new Pyramid pilot will produced by Who Wants to Be a Millionaire executive producer Michael Davies.

$10,000 Pyramid launched in 1973 with Dick Clark as the host. The show changed its name to simply Pyramid when it was syndicated from 2002 to 2004 with host Donny Osmond.
