Private Practice's Showrunners Step Down

Tim Daly and Kate Walsh

Private Practice's two showrunners/executive producers have departed the series, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

Robert Rovner and Jon Cowan are leaving the Grey's Anatomy spin-off now that all story lines for the remainder of the third season have been developed. No replacement has been named yet.

Calls and emails to ABC were not immediately returned.

Rovner and Cowan took control of Practice after the first season due to creator Shonda Rhimes' commitments to Grey's. Rhimes will continue to oversee all creative and production aspects of Practice.

Though ABC has not yet handed out an early renewal, Practice is expected to return for a fourth season.
