Matt Long has joined the cast of Private Practice in a recurring role, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Long, well-known for playing one of the titular roles in Jack & Bobby, will play a new doctor at St. Ambrose hospital. A hot new doc, huh? Could he be a love interest for one of the Seaside Wellness docs? Here's hoping!

The 32-year-old actor's credits also include Mad Men, the short-lived The Deep End, along with Rhimes' Gilded Lilys, a period drama that failed to garner a pickup at ABC this season.
When Private Practice returns, two to three months have passed, meaning Addison (Kate Walsh) will have made a decision between Jake (Benjamin Bratt) and Sam (Taye Diggs). Also, as previously announced, Seaside Wellness will also say farewell to Pete, as Tim Daly will not be returning for Season 6, while Walsh plans to exit the Shonda Rhimes series after 13 episodes.
Private Practice returns Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 10/9c on ABC.
