Could Private Practice Earn a 13-Episode Final Season?

Private Practice

The doctors could be in for one more abbreviated season on Private Practice.

ABC may consider picking up the Grey's Anatomy spin-off for a 13-episode sixth and final season, Deadline reports.

The bubble show still could earn itself a fuller 18- or 22-episode order, but the website reports that star Kate Walsh, who plays neonatal surgeon Dr. Addison Montgomery, will be committing to 13 episodes when her contract comes up for renewal.

Private Practice moved from Thursdays to Tuesdays on April 17, and although the series dropped 23 percent from its usual viewership in its first outing in the new time slot, the following week it increased 29 percent, becoming its most-watched telecast in over a year.

Private Practice airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.

What do you think about a 13-episode final season?
