Princess Beatrice's Hat Nabs $130,000 for Charity

Princess Beatrice of York

If Princess Beatrice still had her silk bow hat, she'd now have a feather to put in it. The twisty Philip Treacy headwear that practically upstaged all else during Prince William and Kate Middleton's April royal wedding has sold for some $131,648 in an eBay auction that ended Sunday, The Associated Press reports.

The sum will be split between two charities: UNICEF and Children in Crisis, the latter of which was formed by Beatrice's mother, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Beatrice's reaction to the anonymous sale was of glee, People reports. "It has its own personality and I am so happy that we have raised the most incredible amount of money and can make an even bigger change for the lives of some of the most vulnerable children across the world," said Beatrice.
