For the Hammonds, the country's closest thing to royalty and the small screen's version of The Clintons, there is zero separation between church and state, or in this case, the personal life and the state.

"There is no difference between the personal and the political,"  ruthless D.C. journalist Susan Berg (Carla Gugino) explains.

In this extended first look at the upcoming miniseries Political Animals, USA offers a close look at the campaigning, the successes, the failures and the scandals of the former First Family.

But will the former First Lady-turned-presidential candidate-turned Secretary of State Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver) make a run for the Oval Office again against current POTUS, her husband's successor Paul Garcetti  (Adrian Pasdar)?
