CBS Pilot News: Steenburgen Finds Happiness, and More

Mary Steenburgen, James D'Arcy

Mary Steenburgen has been tapped to play wife to Richard Dreyfuss — and thus mom to Jason Biggs — in the CBS comedy pilot Happiness Isn't Everything. Steenburgen's character is described by the Hollywood Reporter as "unbelievably sensitive," whereas Dreyfuss' is ... not.

In other CBS pilot news, British actor James D'Arcy has been added to The Eastmans, playing a top vascular surgeon and the oldest of five children in a family of doctors.

In addition to having appeared alongside Russell Crowe in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, D'Arcy recently wrapped filming Virtuality, Battlestar boss Ronald D. Moore's two-hour movie/backdoor pilot for Fox.
