Pilot Season: NBC Picks Up Ryan Murphy Comedy

NBC has ordered a pilot for The New Normal, a comedy from Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy.
Along with fellow Glee producers Ali Adler and producer Dante DiLoreto, Murphy will co-write and direct the single-camera project about a gay couple trying to start a family with the help of a surrogate.

As previously reported, Book of Mormon actor Andrew Rannells will star as one of the three lead roles.
The project will be Murphy's first half-hour show and fifth overall series. His credits also include American Horror Story, Popular and Nip/Tuck.
