It appears that Sydney's checkered romantic past with former brother-in-law Michael Mancini might not necessarily be in the past.
On the heels of Laura Leighton becoming the first original Melrose Place resident to join the CW's reboot, sources tell TVGuide.com that Thomas Calabro also has signed on for the pilot.
Calabro will reprise his role of Dr. Michael Mancini. As for how exactly the morally gray Michael will fit into the new mix or which PYT on the canvas he might be related to, no details were available.
The CW's new Melrose stars Ashlee Simpson-Wentz (as a small-town girl with a secret), Supernatural's Katie Cassidy (as an up-and-coming publicist) 90210's Jessica Lucas (as an inner-city elementary school teacher), Shark's Shaun Sipos (playing original MPer Jake Hansen's grown son), Terminator's Stephanie Jacobsen (as a med student/call girl), All My Children's Colin Egglesfield (as a surfer/aspiring chef) and Greek's Michael Rady (as a wannabe filmmaker).
Leighton's Sydney is now the landlord of the titular complex, while Calabro's Michael ... I dunno, maybe he used his mad doctor skills to bring Syd back to life after her "fatal" car accident?
